Administration Assistant
Flexible part-time working from home with lots of people contact 15-20 hours per week as required
The Company
A quick look round this web site will tell you what we do and the style in which we do it. We've been in business for seven years during which time we've done over 1700 lets and now have some 70 London properties on our books, 25 in Paris and 6 in New York. We plan to continue to grow. We currently employ 5 meeter/greeters to see clients into their rentals, an Operations Manager and 2 part time Administration Assistants (The Reservations Team) to deal with bookings and office administration in London, and a representative in Paris and New York.
Location
We operate from a private house in Balham (7 minutes walk from Balham and Tooting Bec tubes). We are a "virtual" organisation with staff working predominantly in their own homes and on their own computers, connecting to a central server. The cost of internet connection and telephone calls is of course borne by the company. Initial training (15/20 hours) is done in Balham, thereafter you will work from home though we do have frequent contact by e-mail and phone and regular face to face team meetings.
The Job
Most contact with clients and potential clients is by e-mail. The Administration Assistants' role is to handle all e-mails from initial enquiry, through the booking process, to arrival administration. Liaison (by e-mail and phone) with property owners and with car companies to arrange airport pick-ups is also required.
In addition, for the person currently being recruited, there will be a requirement to be available to deal with telephone enquiries (on your PC via Skype) between 1400 and 1800 Mon-Fri.
The main applications used are Microsoft WORD (word processing) and OUTLOOK (e-mail). In addition you will need to refer to and update an ACCESS data base.
Substantial on the job training will be given.
Profile
The role would an older person, perhaps recently retired, wishing to continue working but on a part time basis.
- You must:
- Have your own PC (not Apple) with Windows 2000 (or later) and OFFICE 2000 (or later) software and have high-speed broadband internet access.

Applications from candidates who do not meet this requirement will be rejected.
Hours
The work load is shared (by mutual arrangement) between the Administration Assistants, each working 15/20 hours per week - we make no distinction between weekdays and weekends. So long as no e-mail goes un-answered for more than 12 (ideally 6!) hours you can deal with them when you wish.
In addition you will need to be generally available Mon-Fri 1400-1800, not necessarily to work but at least to answer phone calls if required.
Remuneration
£8 per hour after training and short probationary period + performance bonus.
