Large houses to rent right in the centre of town are very few and far between - if you can find them they normally cost a king's ransom. But a short tube or bus ride from the main tourist areas, with a little luck you can discover properties that will take a larger group. This house, in a quiet, smart area of SW London, is one such find. As an added bonus it has recently been totally refurbished and its beautiful presentation will suit the most discerning taste!

Travel to the centre of town is quick and easy. Putney Bridge underground station (District line) is just 3 minutes walk away making the West End, Kensington and The City very accessible. There are also excellent bus links that take you to the centre of town in 15 minutes.

The house sleeps 9 people in 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin, 1 single, and a double sofa-bed (in the study). There are 3 bathrooms.

The house is arranged over four floors. On the ground floor is a very elegant drawing room (16ft x 15ft, 4.85m x 4.6m) decorated and furnished in traditional English style and furnished with two 2 seater sofas, 2 armchairs side-tables and a piano. There's a coal-effect working gas fire (very cosy in winter) and a stereo system. The large window overlooks the house's private garden. Also on this floor is the TV/games room with multi-channel TV (including films on demand) and a football table!

On the lower ground floor is a wonderful (27ft x 16ft, 8.2m x 4.9m) kitchen/dining/family area comprising three distinct spaces. The dining area with table that seats 8/10, the fully equipped kitchen - granite worktop and American style fridge/freezer - and a comfortable sitting area with leather sofa, armchairs and TV. The flooring throughout is decorative riven stone paving with under-floor heating. This rooms gives out to a patio area (BBQ and outdoor seating) and grassed and planted garden area.

On the first (American second) floor is the spacious master bedroom (17ft3, 16ft6, 5.25m x 5m), its bow window giving lots of light. The study is also on this floor - computer with broadband internet access (you can plug in your own laptop if you want) - and this room has a sofa that converts to a double bed effectively giving an additional double bedroom. There's a smart bathroom (limestone flooring) with bath, basin and loo.

On the top floor are two bedrooms - used by the children and decorated as such - one is a twin the other a single. The bathroom has bath, basin and loo.

There's a good selection of pubs, restaurants and bars etc. within 10 minutes walk: on The Kings Road at Parson's Green, on nearby Fulham Road, or over Putney Bridge in Putney, where you will find the Putney Bridge Restaurant, awarded a Michelin star for their fine cuisine. Fulham Palace Gardens and Bishop's Park with attractive riverside walks are just a 5 minute walk away.
