Milner Street is in one of the smartest parts of Chelsea, some would even call it Knightsbridge! Indeed Harrods and the Knightsbridge tube station (Piccadilly line) are the same distance as Sloane Square (the centre of the universe for the London upper-crust) and its tube (District and Circle lines); both just 5 minutes walk.

This house is the London home of a successful city couple - he's a derivatives trader, she sells bonds. They have made this typical London town house into an elegant, modern home. They divide they time between here and their country residence - hence it's often available for use by our guests.

The accommodation is arranged over 5 floors and sleeps 6 people in 2 double bedrooms and a twin. There are 2 bathrooms and a guest loo. The decorations and furnishing throughout are quality contemporary English and reflect their lifestyle - evidence of his interest in polo and her interest in interior design.

The front door opens onto a narrow hallway off which lead the stairs and the first reception room (23ft x 11ft6, 7.05m x 3.5m). This is simply furnished with a comfortable 3 seater sofa, matching arm chair and central coffee table. There's a TV (+DVD player) set into the wall. The other half of the room is free from furniture and suitable for a small reception / drinks party. On this floor there's also a guest loo.

Stairs lead down to the kitchen/dining area, passing on the half landing a pleasant fully glassed conservatory area with wicker sofa and armchair and door leading to a small outside area.

On the lower ground floor the kitchen/dining area (25ft6 x 13ft9, 7.8m x 4.2m) is half given over to a beautiful modern granite and Beach wood kitchen with all the expected appliances including a microwave, dishwasher. The other half, the dining area, has a stylish modern wooden table and six chairs. The washing machine and dryer are in a separate utility room.

The drawing room ( 23ft3 x 15ft, 7.1m x 4.6m) is on the first floor. One side is furnished with a 3 seater sofa, a small 2 seater, elegant wooden coffee table and TV (+DVD and video player). A working gas coal-effect fire adds a cosy touch in winter. The other side of the room is a study area with a desk and bookshelves with an interesting variety of reading. A modest stereo system and eclectic collection of CDs (jazz, rock and classical) provides further entertainment. There's also a wifi high-speed broadband internet access point - bring your own laptop.

The master bedroom - 6ft wide bed, good storage space - is on the second floor with it's own en-suite bathroom (bath + over-shower, twin "his & hers" basins and loo).

On the top floor are two further bedrooms, another double (5ft bed) and a twin with two single beds. These bedrooms share a bathroom (bath + over-shower, basin and loo).

Fashionable Walton Street is just a few minutes walk away (up-market shops and restaurants). Less than 5 minutes walk away is Beauchamp (pronounced Beecham) Place (fashion shops and more restaurants).

The Hyde Park, Sheraton Tower and Berkley hotels, all with renowned dining rooms, are all within a 15 minute walk on Knightsbridge walking towards Hyde Park Corner. Even closer on Cadogan Place, try the Rib Room and Oyster Bar at the Carlton Tower Hotel which mixes cool sophistication with English tradition.

This is a No Smoking property.
