It's no wonder that this select location 2 minutes walk from lovely Holland Park and the same distance from the tube - Holland Park (Central line) has attracted some of the world's best known personalities. Sir Richard Branson (British entrepreneur) , Steve Baumer (Microsoft CEO) and Huge Grant (actor) all have houses locally.

The house was built in the 1870s and like all mews houses its original function was as a stable, carriage house and quarters for servants. It has had many refits and refurbishments over the intervening period - the last just 3 years ago. The original stable area is now a large garage (the owner is a vintage car enthusiast) with the living accommodation above it. Holland Park Mews is still a cobbled street.

The house sleeps 5 in a double, a twin and a single. There are 3 bathrooms and a downstairs guest loo. There's wifi broadband internet access - bring your own laptop.

A flight of 15 steps (quite steep so not suitable for the infirm) leads to the front door which opens onto a small entrance hall - coat-rack and umbrella stand. A second door opens onto the living area (21ft 6 x 15ft6, 6.5m x 4.75m) which is in two parts.

On the right is the drawing room with two 2 seater sofas, two antique arm chairs, side-tables with lamps and a working coal and wood burning fireplace. There's no TV in this room - it's in the master bedroom and has terrestrial and cable channels.

On the left is the dining room - attractive polished wooden table and seating for eight.

Adjoining the dining room is the kitchen - wooden floor, granite work-top, which has all the expected appliances including a dishwasher and washer/dryer (but no microwave).

A study (12ft6 x 7ft9, 3.75m 2.35m) which also doubles as a single bedroom, and a guest loo completes the ground floor.

Upstairs are two bedrooms a double (12ft6 x 10ft9, 3.75m x 3.3m) with a huge 6ft6 wide bed, and a twin (12ft3 x 11ft6, 3.70m x 3.45). Both have their own en-suit bathrooms with bath + over-shower (power), basin and loo.

There's also a third bathroom with the same facilities on this floor.

Holland Park is one of London's most prestigious residential areas and the mews is adjacent to some of the city's grandest mansions. The park is one of London's prettiest. There are good local shops and wonderful restaurants. Portobello Road (Notting Hill) and Kensington Palace are nearby.

This is a No Smoking property.
