Comfortable and rather unusual is the best way to describe this striking ground floor flat on Eccleston Square which was designed by famous architect Thomas Cubitt and built between 1875 and 1880.

The location is very convenient, less than 5 minutes from Victoria, a major travel hub with train, tube (District, Circle and Victoria lines) and bus stations. Buckingham Palace and Green Park are just 10 minutes walk.

The property sleeps 4 in a spacious double bedroom and 2 single bedrooms. There are two bathrooms.

The flat has wifi broadband internet access.

The entrance door opens onto a small hallway area and corridor, off which are the rooms. The living area (20ft9 x 18ft, 6.3m x 5.45m) - combines living, dining and kitchen.

The living part has a 3/4 seater sofa, two very comfortable winged leather arm chairs and two further arm chairs, round a low oriental coffee table in front of a marble (working) fireplace. There is a B&O sound system with many CDs - mainly opera and classical.

The elegant wooden dining table is normally configure to seat 6, but can be extended to seat 10.

The kitchen occupies one entire side wall - the centrepiece being a classic English "always on" Aga cooker. There are all the expected appliances including a dishwasher (but no microwave). Food can be stored in a separate pantry / kitchen area which has another cooker and dishwasher; during the summer months the Aga is turned off and cooking is done in this area.

The TV room (11ft6 x 10ft3, 3.5m x 3.1m) has a 3/4 seater sofa, several large cushions and an arm chair. The 42" TV (full Sky package) is concealed in a cupboard.

The two single bedrooms (13ft3 x 7ft, 4.05m x 2.15m) and (9ft9 x 9ft6, 2.95m x 2.9m) each have standard 3ft wide single beds and share a bathroom - good powerful shower, basin and loo. The washing machine and separate dryer are in a cupboard off the corridor.

The pièce de résistance of this flat is the huge, boudoir style, master bedroom (19ft9 x 16ft6, 6m x 5m) with its super-king, 6ft6 wide bed and adjoining en suite bathroom. It has its own sitting area with sofa, two arm chairs, TV, desk and dressing table. As well as bath, basin and loo, the en suite bathroom also has a large stand-alone shower.

For open space, gardens and rather exclusive greenery, there is a key available to access the very attractive private gardens of Eccleston Square (just across the road). If you fancy a game of tennis, the courts here are available and can be booked - bring your own racquet and balls.

There are some excellent restaurants close by. Try Oliveta in Elizabeth Street or, a block away and slightly more expensive, its sister restaurant Olivo. At Gran Paradiso on Wilton Road you might well spot an MP dining before returning to the House of Commons to vote.

This is a No Smoking property.
